How to reach the organs through different operations to perform disease meodles. We recommend that you have attended animal Handling one.

3. Animal Langendorff cardiac assessment
The Langendorff cardiac function assessment is an ex vivo technique used to study heart physiology in isolation. In this setup, the heart (usually from a small animal like a rat or mouse) is excised and perfused retrogradely through the aorta with an oxygenated buffer solution, allowing it to beat outside the body without systemic influences.
This method enables controlled measurement of:
• Coronary flow (via perfusate outflow)
• Contractile function (pressure, heart rate, left ventricular developed pressure, dP/dt)
• Electrophysiological responses
• Metabolic activity (oxygen consumption, substrate utilization)
